Dental Care

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s teeth. We use a modern and safe ultrasonic scaler to clean each tooth thoroughly – above and below the gum line. Our trained dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. A fluoride treatment is then applied to the teeth to help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity.

Springbank Pet Hospital is also able to provide Digital Dental Radiology. Many conditions can be missed without dental X- rays. High resolution Digital Dental Radiographs show the tooth pulp, roots, crown and surrounding bone of each tooth with dramatic clarity. This information helps our doctors uncover hidden conditions such as tooth abscesses, cavities, resorptive lesions and fractures which can cause pain in your pet. Often the owner is not aware of the problem since most animals will continue to eat.

Nutritional Counseling

Proper food management is an integral part of your pet’s health. Our staff are qualified to assist you in choosing the best diet designed to meet your pet’s specific needs at every stage of life. We believe providing precisely balanced nutrition is an investment in your pet’s good health.

We stock a wide range of prescription diets. These diets are formulated to optimize our pet’s health and well-being, everything from life stage, mobility, weight loss, dental, metabolic disease, convalescing to balanced treats.

Surgical services and facilities include a surgeon available for consultation; fully equipped surgical suite, fully trained veterinary and technical staff to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet. We provide warming systems for greater comfort of the patients; advanced sterilization techniques and anesthetic monitoring equipment; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing.

Immunization and Wellness Care

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heart worm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

Annual exams are key in maintaining the well-being of your pet, because we can identify illnesses and metabolic changes that often may go undetected. Exams become even more important when we are dealing with senior pets. Remembering, one human year is equivalent to approximately 3-7 years in a pet’s life. Therefore, senior pets should have a bi-annual wellness exams due to the many rapid changes that occur with age.

Preventive Wellness & Vaccinations

At Springbank Pet Hospital, we believe the best medicine is the kind that prevents illness before it starts. Our tailored wellness programs go beyond routine checkups to give your pet complete protection at every life stage.

Your pet’s wellness plan includes:

  • Thorough nose-to-tail physical examinations
  • Parasite screening and prevention (intestinal worms, heartworm, fleas/ticks)
  • Custom vaccination schedules based on lifestyle risks
  • Age-appropriate bloodwork to detect hidden changes
  • Spay/neuter counseling and packages

For senior pets (ages 7+), we recommend bi-annual exams—because their bodies age the equivalent of 3-7 human years every calendar year. These more frequent checkups help us catch age-related conditions like arthritis, kidney changes, or metabolic disorders in their earliest, most treatable stages.

Pain Management

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. We tailor our pain management protocols specifically for each patient and circumstance using:

✔ Multi-modal drug therapies
✔ Laser treatment options
✔ Joint support supplements
✔ Lifestyle modification guidance

Whether managing post-surgical recovery, chronic arthritis, or acute injuries, we prioritize your pet’s comfort at every step.

Radiology

Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular, skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. We use Digital Radiography (DR) technology that provides high resolution X-ray images at a low radiation dose most often encountered with film.

Digital x-rays have the advantages of rapid image acquisition as well as a vastly superior quality when compared to other x-ray systems. We are able to view the images from different computers throughout the hospital. Another benefit is that x-rays can be electronically sent for viewing by a Radiology Specialist if this is indicated. Unlike in human medicine, our technologists are always in the room with your pet. This means that your pet is never alone while the x-rays are being taken.
